Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 September 2026
IPTV Player is a media player for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and which third parties are involved. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
1. What stays on your device
The following never leaves your iPhone or iPad, and we have no way to read it:
- The playlists you add, including any URL, file or credentials embedded in that URL
- Your favourites and watch history
- Which channels you have played, and for how long
- App settings and preferences
This data is held in the app's private container. Deleting the app deletes all of it. If you use iCloud device backups, it may be included in that backup under Apple's terms rather than ours.
2. Connections the app makes
When you add a playlist or play a channel, your device connects directly to whatever server that playlist or stream points at. That connection does not pass through us, and we operate no proxy, relay or cache. The operator of that server may see your IP address, and their privacy practices are their own.
3. Analytics and crash reporting
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to find bugs. Events are anonymous and describe actions, not content. Examples of what is recorded:
| Event | What it records |
|---|---|
| playlist_added | That a playlist was added, and its type (URL, file, device, stream) |
| channel_played | That a channel was opened, and its position in the list |
| search_performed | That a search happened — not what was typed |
| purchase_completed | That a subscription was purchased |
| Crash reports | Stack traces, device model, OS version |
Channel names, playlist URLs and search terms are not sent to analytics. Analytics collection is only enabled after you respond to the consent prompt described in section 5.
4. Advertising
People without an active subscription see ads supplied by Google AdMob: a banner on the channel list and in the player, and a full-screen or rewarded ad when opening a channel. Subscribers see no ads at all, and the ad SDK is not even started for them.
AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show relevant ads and to measure them. If you decline tracking, the app requests non-personalised ads instead — ads still appear, but they are not based on a profile of you.
The app also supports Apple's SKAdNetwork, which lets advertisers measure installs without identifying you individually.
5. Your choices
Consent prompt
On first launch the app shows Google's User Messaging Platform consent form where local law requires it, followed by Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. No ads are loaded and no analytics are collected until you have answered both.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw tracking permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device. Subscribing removes advertising entirely.
6. Subscriptions
Payment is handled by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account. The app only ever asks Apple whether an active entitlement exists, and receives a yes or no.
7. Children
IPTV Player is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app supplies no content of its own; what a playlist contains is determined by whoever created it.
8. Data we cannot give you
Because there is no account, we hold no personal data tied to you and there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. To remove everything the app holds, delete the app. For data held by Google as a processor, see Google's Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the new version will be published here before it takes effect.
